I'm heading back to Nashville and playing at the Building for the Open Road Shawcase Series, Jan 16th, show starts around 8pm and DLW band goes on around 9pm, playing til 10:30 or so... $5 cover, BYOB or drink off the provided keg... a great listening room and great time every Monday in East Nashville, located behind BBQ Drifters in 5 points...

big happenings this summer!  i hope it hasn't been too too hot wherever you are, but i bet it has!

i have been playing with Oakhurst since the beginning of the year, and we have been rocking out many shows from Colorado to Indiana and many great spots between.  You can catch a show tonight if you are in Denver at the Appaloosa at 10pm, after I play today solo acoustic from 5-7pm with Adam from Oak sitting in.  www.porchmusic.com for more info and tour dates with Oakhurst.

Monday night - Labor Day - at 10pm I will be rocking out with my trio, David Petry on drums and Kurt Reber on bass.  This will be a great end to a long weekend of shows in Colorado!

Nashville - Tuesday Sept. 13th @ the Basement   AND   Monday Sept. 26 at the Building  - two of my favorite places in Nashville, the Basement show will be part of the New Faces series and I will go on first with my Nashville band, playing right at 8pm for about 20 minutes before several other acts play, no cover.... and at the Building (in E. Nash formerly Billups Art, behind BBQ Drifters and Beyond the Edge in the alley) is the Open Road Mondays showcase series, with two oopening acts and then DLW with band to headline for an hour around 9pm, the fun starts at 8pm and continues after the bands are done with an open mic for anyone, and BYOB, cover is $5.

The DLW album is getting closer, promise!  and watch for the new Oakhurst album before the end of the year as well!

MONDAY FEB. 7 - Open Road Mondays are hosted by David Oakleaf, and I can't say enough about this awesome night, with 3 bands, and an open mic/jam that follows, the spot is BYOB (who's got the whiskey?) and the music kicks off around 8pm, with DLW headlining full band style from around 9-10pm, Nashville represent!  at Billups Art, in East Nashville, behind BBQ Drifter's in the alley off Woodland and 11th.

OAKHURST TOUR - Feb. 10-14 and 24-26 - We will be heading out to shows in Kansas and Nebraska, then heading back to Colorado on the Oakhorse (our Veggie Oil Powered bus) to play at the Belly Up in Aspen on Valentine's Day.  Followed up a couple weeks later with a show in Denver at the Appaloosa, and two shows at the Snake River Saloon in Keystone, CO.  Check out www.porchmusic.com

FOLK ALLIANCE - Feb. 17-19 - MEMPHIS, TN - Daniel Lawrence Walker has been selected to perform an official showcase at the 2011 Conference, and has several other private showcases throughout the weekend. Please see the tour dates for all of the showcase times.  

This is a great new video (actually, just the rough draft) with a interview and full band performance video  that my friend Becca Finley and her company put together for me.  They are called GoToTeam.com.  They are breaking into the Nashville market early next year, and are a great video production house based in several cities around the country.   Many thanks to Becca, Jimmy, Roger and Erin!

This Sunday (12:30p-6p) I'm playing my regular Sunday show downtown with my friend Rick Trace, at Whiskey Bent, it will be pretty crazy down there after the Titans game, so if you're in Nashville, check it out!  Its across from Cadillac Ranch.

COLORADO

I will be playing some shows in Colorado next week, and hope to see many friendly faces from the Rockies!

For the 6th year in a row I will be performing as part of the Last Waltz Revisited, on Wed. Nov. 24th at the Gothic Theatre, this show will probably sell-out, so try and get your tickets early if you can, so you don't get stuck out in the cold when the roof gets torn off.  I will be singing the closer, playing the part of Bob Dylan #3 (I shall be released)

FRIDAY NOV. 26  - 10pm

Then, because Pete's Monkey was such a huge barn burner last time, we are doing it all over again, with Rev. Hood and the Lost Children opening, and David Petry and Kirwan Brown joining me on Drums and Bass, don't miss this show!

SATURDAY NOV. 27 - 9pm

Colorado is right around the corner, with the Last Waltz at it's new location this year at the Gothic, and a repeat of the barn burner in August when I bring in the heavy hitters with Dave Petry on drums and Kerwin Brown on Bass at Pete's Monkey on Friday November 26th, Reverend Hood and the Lost Children wil open again, get your dancing boots on!   ... one more show in the works in the mountains Sat. Nov. 27th, stay tuned!

I am playing 3 gigs around Nashville next week, and all of them are full band shows, and all of the proceeds from all 3 shows will be going towards the Flood Relief Benefit at 3rd and Lindsley at 10pm on Saturday.  I will be playing with  bassist Dan Seymour (monday and Thursday only) and on the drums will be no other than my old friend from Denver, CO - David Petry!  He is flying out for two shows next week on Thursday and Saturday.  Local drum stud Justin will be playing on Monday night for the first gig.  

Monday May 17th - BILLUPS STUDIO - DLW is the first of 3 bands, starting at 8:30pm.  There is a $5 cover - however it is BYOB because its at Billups, one of the coolest little known spots, right in the middle of Five Points in East Nashville, tucked behind BBQ Drifters and Beyond the edge's little alley.  10th and Woodland... this night is called Open Road Mondays hosted by David Oakleaf from Kansas.  A very cool night last time we played.

Thursday May 20th - FOOBAR (front small room) - DLW returns to Foobar's cozy front room with the whole night to rock and funk it up with drum wizard David Petry on the drums, all the way from Colorado, all the way from Muncie too where he knew Dan Seymour, the bassist on the night and played together long ago, and I met them in entirely different cities at different times in my life, crazy...

Saturday May 22nd is the big finale of the week at 3rd and Lindsley, part of a big line-up of musicians, songwriters, and soul singers starting at 10pm sharp.  This is a Flood Relief Benefit, so bring donations in the form of clothes, food, and a minimum donation for the flood victims.  I will have a Flood Relief Jar and Collection Box at Monday and Thursday's gigs and bring to contribute this night.

COLORADO...

Next week I will be returning to Denver for a show with an old friend, Mark Brut.  He will be playing with several old friends of mine at Moe's BBQ and Bowling, next to the Gothic Theater in Englewood.  I will play the first set with David Petry (drums) and Matt Skelenger (bass).  I will start promptly at 9:30 and play til around 10:30.  Mark plays from 11 til 1.

AND BEYOND...

Lots of great things coming up!  April 17th I will be playing in Louisville, KY for the first time, with my friends Oakhurst, opening for them at the Hideaway.  the following weekend I'm tenatively playing at a night show in NOLA for Jazzfest, more on that soon.  Also, there is a great festival shaping up for August in Colorado, the Newhoma Music and Mountain Fest - and I've been invited to play, more details on that soon as well!  Hopefully I'll make it to $location soon!
